A beauty store can sell everything from cosmetics to beauty products, but the big-name brand names tend to dominate the store, which is part of the retail chain, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said in a statement.BJP Vice President and Union Minister for Women and Child Development Anjani Kumar tweeted on Monday that the BJP government will make it mandatory for the state government to set up a beauty dispensing machine for the purpose of making the state more attractive to tourists.
The state government will set up an outlet to sell cosmetics in the beauty outlet mall.
We will set it up in the state assembly,” she tweeted.
She said the government will also make it compulsory for the beauty dispenser to have an official seal and to have a CCTV system.
She further said that all beauty outlets in the State will be subject to the same regulations and guidelines.
Kumar, who is the Member of the Cabinet for Urban Development, has also said the new beauty dispensers will be run by a board and will be located in major tourist areas.
She has also announced that the government would set up kiosks at beauty shops and beauty shops will be allowed to sell only non-prescription products and cosmetics.
The BJP government has been targeting tourist arrivals in the country as well as the international tourists for the first time in the last three months.
The new rules are being implemented after the Supreme Court’s orders that a person can purchase a beauty product or a service in a cosmetics outlet only if he or she is over 18 years old.
The ban on cosmetics retailing in India is expected to be implemented from January 1.
