The machines are being rolled out by the country’s biggest retail chain, Zara, as a response to growing demand.
According to a spokesperson for the chain, over the last three years sales of cannabis-related products and services increased by 35 per cent, and by 1,800 per cent over the previous three years.
“As a result of this, the number of retailers operating vending machines has tripled over the past three years,” the spokesperson said.
“With Zara’s latest innovation, we are introducing a range of products and accessories to cater for the needs of the cannabis consumer.”
Zara also introduced a cannabis-themed fashion line in November last year.
